The Farmhouse is the result of over twentyfive years of family dedication, and its "Podere" is the glory of the old Colleoli Farm. In 2006 the farmhouse hosted the filmmaker Paolo Virzì and his cast during the shooting of the movie "N - Io e Napoleone".
The main house is the farm's biggest building, which was renovated in 2005 to house the four apartaments. "La Mangiatoia", the old barn, hosts the reception at the ground floor, together with the exposition of typical Tuscan products. The Farmhouse has a 14x6m pool on a terrace that overlooks the whole Val d'Era Valley. All over the property you can admire several sculptures made with passion and creativity in different materials by Gaetano Forgione. Barbeque, tables, trails and children's games are all services available for our guests.
MonteMari is fully surrounded by nature: just outside Palaia's town centre you can find a wide area dedicated to the safeguard of wildlife, where you can spot an array of different species, such as hares, hawks, magpies, wild boars, robins, woodpeckers, hoopoes and more. The Farmhouse is located along the "Strada del Vino delle Colline Pisane" - Wine Route of the hills around Pisa - a pleasant trail for hiking, biking or horse riding. Nature lovers will surely appreciate Ponsacco's "Poggini" and the natural areas in Capannoli, Vico Pisano and Viareggio. Just beyond Partino's municipality you can visit an historic trail surrounded by olive groves and hypogeums. Another important landmark is Castelfiorentino, a small village in the Val D'Elsa area, distinguished by an extended hilly landscape crossed by creeks and fully immersed in a pleasant relax.
The area around the farmhouse is ideal for any kind of sport. Nearby Palaia and other neighborhood villages you can practice horseback riding thanks to the presence of many riding rings. Mountan-Biking is also a must for those who love to explore the hills and the valleys around Pisa area. Nordic walking can be practiced along the rivers, and cable wakeboarding on the Braccini Lakes, a famous green area in Pontedera. It is possible to do Jogging along the countryside of Pisa trails to breath in clean air and enjoy the magnificent landscapes The area around San Giuliano Terme is a perfect place for paragliding, mountain biking, free climbing and birdwatching.
Tuscany is famous for its thermal Spas with spring waters. It is very easy to reach these destinations to take advantage of a relaxing occasion. Grotta Giusti, located in Monsummano Terme, is the ideal place for healing spring waters, mud and many therapeuthic treatments. Casciana Terme is also well-known for its spring waters, acknowledged for the special healing properties since the 12th century.
Just outside the town of Palaia there is the church "Pieve di San Martino", but it is also interesting to visit the "Museo del Lavoro e della Civiltà Rurale", which is a museum holding several tools related to the traditions of the local residents. Some hidden gems can be discovered travelling less than 20 Km: Treggiaia, Montecastello, Capannoli, Montefoscoli, and Partino. Travelling a bit further, in a range of about 60 Km, you can find other interesting locations: the Piaggio Museum in Pontedera; the Leonardo da Vinci Museum and Leonardo's childhood home; Saint Zeno's Cathedral, "San Giovanni in Corte" baptistery and the "Palazzo Vescovile" in Pistoia; the harbour, the "Fortezza Vecchia" and "Palazzo Mediceo" in Livorno; the Glass Museum in Empoli; the famous "Teatro del Silenzio" desired by tenor Andrea Bocelli, in Lajatico; the "Santuario della Madonna di San Romano" in San Romano. We cannot of course miss to mention the most important art cities such as Lucca, Pisa and Florence.

Truffles' lovers won't miss the opportunity to stop in San Miniato: every year in November this town turns into "Truffles' Land". Others venues of interest are: San Gimigniano, famous for Vernaccia wine and saffron; Castelfranco di Sotto well-known for the Chianina beef cattle breeding and for the Porcino Festival; Altopascio famous to be "the bread town".
